FAQ.

Under certain circumstances you may want to take lessons in your own, family or friend’s car. It is a good idea when the car will be used for your road test, or when you have a new car and want to get familiar with it before licensing. New Solution Driving School can train you in your vehicle, provided it is registered, roadworthy and comprehensively insured.

Before any training in your vehicle, the instructor inspects it. The inspection includes, but is not limited to, checking that:

• the registration label is valid, current, intact and displayed appropriately
• the vehicle is comprehensively insured and your insurance company is notified that a driving instructor will use it for training
• the tyres are correctly inflated (at least to the manufacturer’s recommendation), have appropriate tread and are not damaged
• all indicators, headlights and brake lights work
• seats and seat belts are in good working order and are not damaged or twisted
• any loose items in the cabin are stowed in the cargo area, and the windows and interior are clean
• the vehicle has enough fuel for the lesson (at least a quarter of a tank)

The lesson charge is not reduced for a lesson in a customer’s own car.

Our packages include booking your G2 test, only if you are ready. The Silver, Gold and Diamond packages also include the instructor’s car for the G2 test (one time only). For individual G2 and G lessons, the use of our car for your road test (one time only) is included. Call us or send a lesson request and we’ll guide you.

It depends on you. Our Beginner packages include 10, 12, 15 or 20 hours in the car, and individual G2 and G lessons are sold in packs of 1 to 6 lessons of 60 minutes. Not sure what you need? Call us and we’ll help you choose.

Individual G2 and G lessons run in Toronto, Scarborough, Vaughan, Etobicoke and Markham. We are based in North York and serve York Region.
